2,5-bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)benzoic Acid(CAS:35480-52-5) has been used in a variety of scientific research applications. It has been used as a reagent in the synthesis of organic compounds such as β-trifluoromethylbenzyl alcohols and β-trifluoromethylbenzyl chlorides. BTFA has also been used as a catalyst in the synthesis of organic compounds such as α-trifluoromethylbenzyl alcohols and α-trifluoromethylbenzyl chlorides. Additionally, BTFA has been used as a starting material in the synthesis of trifluoromethylated heterocyclic compounds such as thiazoles, oxazoles, and thiophenes.
